Highlights of the Month

April 2026 was a month of meaningful engagement, learning, and recognition for BioNEST. From flagship deep-tech summits to entrepreneurial bootcamps, internship programs, and student accolades, the month reflected our commitment to fostering innovation, research excellence, and an entrepreneurial mindset across the BioNEST community.

IRIS Event 2026

BioNEST proudly participated in the SRM Hindu Deep Tech Summit – IRIS 2026, held at Feathers Hotel on April 6th and 7th, 2026, in association with The Hindu. The event showcased innovation and entrepreneurial excellence, bringing together startups, researchers, industry experts, and innovators, and creating a dynamic ecosystem for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Our BioNEST-based startups actively participated and presented their ideas:

  • Arkiomics
  • ANEUVA
  • MUGENICS
  • SWASTHA
  • OMICS
  • Sevithran
  • Patent: Nasal Insulin Spray

This event provided a valuable platform for exposure, networking, and presenting cutting-edge biotech innovations. Throughout the summit, our teams engaged in meaningful discussions with industry professionals, received valuable feedback, and explored opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Bootcamp 2026

BioNEST actively participated in Bootcamp 2026, conducted in collaboration with DEI. The bootcamp was designed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and provide practical exposure to the startup ecosystem.

The program covered key aspects such as idea generation, validation, growth strategies, and effective pitching. Through interactive sessions and activities, participants gained hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how to transform ideas into viable ventures.

The bootcamp also helped students build confidence, overcome stage fear, and improve their ability to communicate and present their ideas effectively. It served as a valuable learning experience, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world entrepreneurship.

MuGenics Internship Program

The MuGenics Private Limited Internship Program, conducted at SRM BioNEST, offers hands-on training designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world laboratory skills.

Focused on molecular diagnostics, biosensor development, and translational research, the program provides structured modules covering key techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, LAMP assay, gel electrophoresis, protein analysis, and microbiological methods.

Participants gain practical exposure through guided laboratory sessions in areas including cloning and expression, pathogen identification, and antimicrobial testing. The program also supports short-term research projects, UG/PG project work, and specialized training opportunities.

Overall, the internship serves as a valuable platform for students to develop technical expertise and gain industry-relevant experience in biotechnology.
