The Directorate of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (DEI), SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) ("SRM DEI", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to providing a transparent and fair process regarding registrations, payments, cancellations, and refunds for programs, events, workshops, training sessions, conferences, incubation services, and other activities offered through our website.
By registering for or making a payment through the SRM DEI website, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.
1. Event and Program Registrations
Participants registering for workshops, seminars, conferences, bootcamps, competitions, training programs, or other events may be required to pay a registration fee, depending on the specific program.
Any applicable fees, payment terms, and refund conditions will be clearly communicated during the registration process.
2. Cancellation by Participant
Participants who wish to cancel their registration should notify SRM DEI in writing via the official contact email as early as possible.
Unless otherwise stated for a specific program:
- Registration fees are generally non-refundable after successful payment.
- Requests for cancellation submitted before the registration deadline may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Administrative or processing charges, if applicable, may be deducted from any approved refund.
3. Cancellation by SRM DEI
SRM DEI reserves the right to:
- Cancel or postpone any event or program.
- Modify schedules or venues.
- Change speakers, mentors, trainers, or facilitators.
- Reschedule sessions due to operational, technical, safety, or unforeseen circumstances.
If SRM DEI cancels a paid event and no suitable alternative is offered, eligible participants may receive either:
- A full refund of the registration fee, or
- A credit toward a future SRM DEI event or program, at the discretion of SRM DEI.
4. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may be considered only under the following circumstances:
- Duplicate payment for the same registration.
- Incorrect payment caused by a verified technical error.
- Cancellation of an event by SRM DEI without a replacement program.
- Other exceptional circumstances approved by SRM DEI.
Refund requests that do not meet these conditions may not be approved.
5. Non-Refundable Payments
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the following are generally non-refundable:
- Application fees
- Incubation application fees
- Startup evaluation fees
- Membership fees
- Training fees after program commencement
- Workshop registration fees
- Conference registration fees
- Certification fees
- Digital resources or downloadable materials
- Merchandise or promotional items
6. Refund Process
Eligible refund requests should include:
- Participant's full name
- Registration or application number (if applicable)
- Payment receipt or transaction reference
- Reason for the refund request
Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method wherever possible.
Processing times may vary depending on the payment gateway or financial institution but generally take 7–15 business days after approval.
7. Payment Gateway Charges
Any payment gateway fees, bank charges, taxes, or transaction processing fees that are non-recoverable may be deducted from the refund amount, where permitted by applicable law.
8. Transfer of Registration
Where permitted for a specific event or program, SRM DEI may allow the transfer of a registration to another participant before the registration closing date.
Such transfers are subject to approval and may require written consent from SRM DEI.
9. Force Majeure
SRM DEI shall not be liable for cancellations, postponements, delays, or changes resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Government restrictions
- Public health emergencies
- Strikes
- Technical failures
- Power outages
- Acts of terrorism
- Civil disturbances
- Other force majeure events
In such cases, SRM DEI may offer rescheduling, credits, or other remedies at its discretion.
10. Changes to this Policy
SRM DEI reserves the right to amend or update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time.
Any changes will become effective upon publication on the website.
