About Bootstrappers' Research Council

Bootstrappers' Research Council (BRC) is a Section 8 Company dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the biotechnology sector. It facilitates a feasible and conducive ecosystem for increasing the innovation index on campus for all stakeholders — including students, faculty, alumni, industry, investors, and society at large — and acts as a special-purpose vehicle for incubation and investment. BRC is seeking a dynamic and motivated BioNEST Manager to manage and oversee its BioNEST incubator, handling the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) grants.

Nature of the Position
Full-time, reporting to the Principal Investigator — Director, DEI. The BioNEST Manager is responsible for the efficient management of the incubator, providing support to startups, and ensuring the compliance and success of BIRAC-funded projects.
Eligibility Requirements

Educational Qualification

A Master's or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  1. Minimum 5–8 years of experience in biotechnology, startup incubation, research management, or innovation ecosystems, with hands-on experience in managing BIRAC/BioNEST programmes.
  2. Proven experience with BIRAC grants and familiarity with the biotechnology innovation ecosystem.
  3. Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  4. Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with startups, researchers, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
  6. Passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and the biotechnology sector.
Core Responsibilities
  • Incubator Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the BioNEST incubator.
  • Incubator Management: Ensure the facility is well-maintained and equipped to meet the needs of incubated startups.
  • Incubator Management: Develop and implement strategic plans to attract and retain high-potential biotech startups.
  • Grant Management: Maintain effective liaison with BIRAC and ensure timely compliance with all programme requirements.
  • Grant Management: Ensure compliance with BIRAC guidelines and reporting requirements.
  • Grant Management: Assist startups in the application, execution, and monitoring of BIRAC-funded projects.
  • Startup Support: Provide mentorship and advisory support to incubated startups.
  • Startup Support: Facilitate connections with potential investors, industry experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Startup Support: Organize workshops, training sessions, and networking events to foster a collaborative ecosystem.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the progress and performance of incubated startups.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Prepare regular reports on the incubator's activities, financial status, and impact metrics.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Evaluate the outcomes of incubator programmes and suggest improvements.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Establish and maintain relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Explore and secure funding opportunities and partnerships to support incubator operations and growth.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Represent the Bootstrappers' Research Council at relevant forums, conferences, and events.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage the budget and financial operations of the BioNEST incubator.

  • Administrative Duties: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies.
