About Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (DEI) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) is an organization founded in 2015 with the aim to foster the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The organization envisions to support and enable startups across the country by providing various facilities and funds. Right from the inception of an idea into an end result, the DEI team enables teams and start-ups to achieve success in their startup journey.
Position Details
Educational Qualification
Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Business, Design, or related disciplines). Certified or basic-level understanding of Design Thinking concepts and methodologies.
Experience
- Tenured Professor or Associate Professor with a minimum of 10 years of experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and research, with a strong publication record.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in coordinating academic programs.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working with industry partners is preferred.
- Preferred: experience in developing and delivering online and blended learning courses.
- Preferred: knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems, and experience in student startup support.
- Course Coordination and Management: Plan, organize, and execute the delivery of the Design Thinking course, and elective and open courses on tech entrepreneurship and bio-design innovation minors.
- Course Coordination and Management: Develop and maintain course syllabi, learning materials, and assessment tools.
- Course Coordination and Management: Coordinate with faculty members, guest speakers, and industry experts to ensure high-quality course delivery.
- Course Coordination and Management: Manage course logistics, including scheduling, resource allocation, and student communication.
- Course Coordination and Management: Monitor and evaluate course effectiveness, implementing improvements as needed.
- Design and Entrepreneurship Bootcamps: Coordinate and manage the logistical and academic delivery of design and entrepreneurship bootcamps.
- Design and Entrepreneurship Bootcamps: Work with industry partners to facilitate and improve the bootcamp experience.
- Design and Entrepreneurship Bootcamps: Provide support and guidance to bootcamp participants.
- Program Development and Enhancement: Contribute to the development of new courses and programs related to entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Program Development and Enhancement: Identify and implement best practices in entrepreneurial education.
- Program Development and Enhancement: Stay abreast of current trends and developments in design thinking and entrepreneurship.
- Faculty and Student Support: Provide academic advising and mentorship to students enrolled in entrepreneurship and innovation programs.
- Faculty and Student Support: Support faculty members in the development and delivery of innovative teaching methods.
- Faculty and Student Support: Act as a liaison between students, faculty, and the Directorate.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of course activities, student performance, and program outcomes.
- Administrative Duties: Prepare reports and presentations on program activities and achievements.
- Administrative Duties: Assist with the development and management of program budgets.
