About ASIF

AIC–SRM Incubation Forum (ASIF) is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) established by SRM Institute of Science & Technology (SRMIST) as a Section 8 Company, incorporated on 10th March 2025. ASIF is promoted and hosted by SRMIST and commenced operations with initial funding support from the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Government of India. The formation of ASIF aims to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem by providing support to early-stage ideas and promoting the development of high-potential startups. ASIF shall provide comprehensive support to startups through access to infrastructure, seed funding, capacity-building programs, expert mentorship, and advanced laboratory facilities. ASIF will design these initiatives to assist innovators in transforming their concepts into viable, investment-ready ventures. Through the strategic partnerships, ASIF will play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth, sustainability, and success of the startup community.

Nature of the Position
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the incubator is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic plan to support and grow start-ups in the deep-tech industry, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the incubator and ensuring its long-term financial sustainability. The CEO should build a vibrant innovation ecosystem within the campus, connecting academia, start-ups, investors, and government.
Eligibility Requirements

Educational Qualification

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, Management, or a related field. Additional qualifications in business administration (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience at leadership or Manager level in S&T incubators hosted by academic institutions.
  2. Candidates for a CEO role should have experience in full cycle implementation of programs like AIC, SISFS, and BIRAC BioNest and any national level or international level funding programs.
Core Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the overall operations, strategic direction, and growth of the ASIF.
  • Design and execute incubation, acceleration, innovation, and entrepreneurship programs supported by government agencies, industry partners, and CSR initiatives to fulfil the AIC goals and deliverables.
  • Build and strengthen the startup ecosystem through mentorship, business advisory, investor connect, networking, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive fundraising initiatives and manage financial sustainability, including grants, investments, startup funding support, and fund disbursement mechanisms.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and collaborations with industry, academia, investors, incubators, accelerators, and government bodies.
  • Foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the host institute by supporting student-led and faculty-led startups and innovation initiatives.
  • Oversee the establishment, operations, compliance, and smooth functioning of incubation infrastructure, laboratories, and makerspaces.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team while ensuring effective governance, statutory compliance, financial management, and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement branding, outreach, marketing, and communication strategies to enhance the ASIF visibility and impact.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks associated with the incubator and its programs.
Appointment Tenure
The initial term of appointment will be one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance evaluation and project requirements.
Compensation
Compensation will be fixed based on qualification & experience.
